Concert Location and Parking

Bank of America Performing Arts Center

Kavli Theatre

Backstage parking spots are limited (for musicians with large instruments only – cello, contrabass). Park in main structure off of TO Boulevard (free if entering before 1 PM), or west end of Lakes shopping mall lot.

When arriving, please enter through the artist entrance (left side of building as you face main entrance).

Youth Strings and Prep Orchestra Instruments: Backstage behind orchestra shell.

Symphony Orchestra Instruments: Backstage or in downstairs dressing rooms.

Musician bathrooms are downstairs.

* Please arrive early if you have never performed at the Kavli to familiarize yourself with the backstage area.

Concert Dress – Concert Black

Gentlemen:

Youth Strings – Black dress pants, white dress shirt, no tie or bowtie. Black dress shoes.

Prep Orchestra – Black suit (dress pants and jacket), white dress shirt, no tie or bowtie. Black dress shoes.

Symphony Orchestra – Black suit (dress pants and jacket, no tux if possible), BLACK dress shirt, dark tie, black dress shoes.

Ladies:

Black floor-length dress (at least ¾ length sleeves), jacket optional, black dress shoes.

OR

Black dress pants and dress top (at least ¾ length sleeves), jacket optional, black dress shoes.

(Youth strings white blouse OK)

Concert Logistics

YOUTH STRINGS

Rehearsal at 10:45, concert call time is 2:40, on stage at 2:50. Please go home and have lunch between rehearsal and concert. You will be tuned back-stage before the performance. After performing, you will be escorted by our chaperones to the upper balcony to watch the rest of the concert. You must remain in the upper balcony until the concert is over (including during intermission). There will be a bathroom break. After the concert, you will meet your family at the bottom of the balcony stairs.

PREPARATORY ORCHESTRA

Rehearsal at 11:45, concert call time is 2:50. Please go home and have lunch between rehearsal and concert. After unpacking backstage, please quietly go the the green room for individual tuning. You must be quietly waiting backstage when the concert starts. You will take the stage WHILE FLORE ENSEMBLE IS PERFORMING. After performing, you will have be escorted by our chaperones to the upper balcony to watch the rest of the concert. You must remain in the upper balcony until the concert is over (there will be a bathroom break). After the concert, you will meet your family at the bottom of the balcony stairs.

SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA

Rehearsal at 12:45, concert call time is 3:45 backstage. We recommend coming to rehearsal in concert dress. After rehearsal, you will have a catered pizza lunch at 1:30 PM. You are welcome to remain at the theater but are free to go home between rehearsal and concert. You should be tuned and begin taking your place on stage 5 minutes into intermission to warm up. You are dismissed immediately after the concert is over. You may exit through the artist entrance or through the ushers entrance.
